Imagine browsing your favorite website as a video-game avatar. Having the ability to pick an object up, explore its functionality and view its detail before purchasing it online. How about going to a concert with a friend who lives in another city without ever leaving your house?  
The Virtual World Web is a multi-player network that allows users to connect, browse and explore the internet as a 3D virtual experience. In January 2014 it went into public alpha and later this year will begin hosting a variety of new virtual worlds, ranging from social networks to virtual education.
Built on top of Unity - the fastest growing game development and interactive 3D platform - the Virtual World Web adds a network component to Unity's vision of democratizing game development.  It’s mission is to build a network of 3D environments hyperlinked together in the same way as web sites on the Internet.
